The 2016 Subaru Forester is here, for the Japanese domestic market (JDM) however, and it will be debuting at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
The newest addition to the Subaru range is called the Forester and it is in the 2016 model year. The vehicle has been slightly updated and it is now showing its face officially, after it leaked just a month ago. Changes made to its exterior design are subtle and you won’t notice them unless you are a Subaru fan. These include the U-shaped theme for the taillights, the widened headlights, the updated front bumper and grille and that’s about all.
A couple of fresh paints are contributing to the final looks of the crossover, the Dark Blue Pearl and the Sepia Bronze Metallic, along with the 17-inch alloy wheels, with a fresh design. Some of the goodies found on it include the Pre-Collision Braking Control, the Adaptive Cruise Control, the upgraded Active Lane Keep steering assistance on the Eye Sight version 3, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Adaptive Driving Beam, adaptive full LED headlights and more.
The 2016 Subaru Forester is also adding the optimized chassis, the steering-gear ratio, the improved suspension and the upgraded fuel efficiency on the naturally aspirated models. The turbo variant is bringing the auto-step shift control for the 8-speed close-ratio transmission. Subaru also says that the Siri Eyes Free support for navigation has been added to the cabin, along with the color LCD multi-info display and the Harman Kardon sound system. The thicker door glass, transforming the cabin into a quieter place, should also be mentioned.
