The Japanese based automaker Toyota has officially pulled the wraps off the 2016 RAV5 Hybrid, during the 2015 New York Auto Show, in a premiere.
After showing the regular version of the RAV4 in its facelifted variant in the Big Apple, Toyota has also pulled the wraps off the “greener” version, the RAV4 Hybrid. The model in question has been officially presented to the public during the 2015 New York Auto Show and it is coming with some tweaks which will help it differentiate from the regular models.
“There’s a new hybrid in town, and it’s called RAV4. Toyota has been the overwhelming gas-electric hybrid sales leader in the U.S. since 2000. Now, 15 years after the first Prius was sold in the U.S., Toyota has unveiled its eighth hybrid offering as part of the refreshed 2016 RAV4”, says the carmaker in its official press release.
The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is taking its power form the 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine, connected to the eCVT transmission and the Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive system, which is bringing a rear electric motor, capable of delivering the instant torque to the rear-wheel drive, when the additional traction is needed. Despite officially pulling the wraps off its body, Toyota has been cheap on providing more details on the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid, but we do know that this will be offered for sale starting this fall. Additional info on the green crossover, including its pricing, will be announced close to its sale date.
