The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently released a teaser image with the sixth generation of the Transporter, which will be officially unveiled on the 15th of April.
Volkswagen is getting ready to introduce the 2016 Transporter but until that will happen, the company is playing the teasing game. This is how the image posted above has been released and if you are hoping that this will be really the final design of the production version model, think again, because it doesn’t look that practical with those large wheels.
The ne Volkswagen T6 will not be that different from the current T5, as the car manufacturer is stating. The vehicle will be riding on the same platform and its design will be evolutionary and inspired by the one of the Tristar Concept. This will be matched with a new looks for the cabin which will now add the newest infotainment systems, made by VW.
“Ahead of its official world premiere on 15 April 2015, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has revealed a sketch of the sixth-generation Transporter. Getting the job done efficiently and reliably has been at the heart of the Volkswagen philosophy for the past 65 years. Its reputation for rugged reliability has endured over the decades to make the Volkswagen Transporter one of the world’s best-selling light commercial vehicles”, said the company in its press release.
The 2016 Volkswagen T6 is believed to carry the engine lineup from the Passat B8 and to get the 7-speed DSG transmission, along with the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. The new Volkswagen T6 will be hitting the company’s dealerships in the second half of this year. More details on it are limited at the moment and will be announced on April 15, when it will be officially unveiled.
