The online configurator for the new generation of the Volvo XC90 has been released after the model has been officially unveiled a couple of months ago.
The 2016 Volvo XC90 is getting ready to be introduced as the model in question will become available for order, over-seas, from 48,900 USD, plus the 925 USD destination charge. If you want to upgrade to the R-Design package, you will have to pay another 4,000 USD and for the Inscription package, you will add 5,600 USD. The updated SUV has an evolutionary design with LED daytime running lights, with a large chromed grille, fog lights, on the lower part of the front bumper, a large rear side window, chromed window framing, roof mounted spoiler, round / rectangle double exhaust tips, 22-inch alloy wheels, signature taillights, dark plastic mouldings and several other tweaks. The cabin is adding the voice recognition system, Apple CarPlay, HERE navigation system, Ericsson based cloud solution and a third row of seats.
The new Volvo XC90 is riding on the on the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) and it is packing four-cylinder engines, including the D5 twin turbo diesel with 225 HP (168 kW) and 470 Nm (347 lb-ft), the D4 with 190 HP (142 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), the T6 turbocharged and supercharged petrol with 320 HP (239 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) or the T5 producing 254 HP (189 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). The T8 plug-in hybrid has a 2.0L turbocharged and supercharged unit with a total of 400 HP (298 kW) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft) peak torque.
