The 2017 model year Audi A3 sedan sold in America is now more powerful and also more efficient thanks to the new 2.0-liter engine used as the base option.
The Audi A3 has decided to retire the 1.8-liter turbocharged engine previously used as the entry-level option, viagra sale which gets replaced by a more powerful and also more efficient 2.0-liter TFSI. The new version has 16 more horsepower (11 kilowatts) and 21 more pound-feet (28 newton-meter) of torque and comes with the 2017 model year. The 2.0-liter TFSI is linked to a new seven-speed S Tronic transmission and has 186 horsepower (138 kilowatts) and 221 pound-feet (299 newton-meters) of torque, which is enough for the front-wheel-drive sedan to reach 60 mph (96 kmh) in a good 6.6 seconds. But the performance credentials didn’t have an impact on fuel efficiency, because the new mill is two mpg better than the predecessor at 29 mpg combined.
The 2017 A3 also gets a new headlight design and modified elements of the front end – including a wider ‘Singleframe’ grille for a more aggressive feel, in Audi’s opinion. The cheapest A3 is the Premium front-wheel-drive model costing $31,200, not including the $950 destination. The A3 Premium Plus and Prestige models come with the more powerful 2.0-liter TFSI Quattro packing 220 horsepower (164 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (newton-meters) of torque.
