With the new generation just presented at the start of the month during the Paris Motor Show, Audi is apparently eager to reach its British clients – with the company releasing pricing details for the A5 Coupe/ Sportback brothers.
The models can already be ordered and the least expensive version is the A5 Coupe in the base SE trim with a 190-hp 2.0 TFSI engine linked to a six speed manual gearbox for £30, 700 OTR. Go for the more practical Sportback and the pricing jumps to £38, 005 in the Sport trim with a 190-hp 2.0 TDI quattro setup and a seven-speed S tronic transmission. The pricing for the entry-level Sportback SE will be revealed later on – so early adopters need to settle on the more expensive and better equipped Sport.
Meanwhile, if you want the added panache and performance of an S5, get ready to shell out £47,000 in both Coupe and Sportback guises. Both have a new turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 354 horsepower (260 kilowatts) and a good 368.8 pound-feet (500 Newton-meters) of torque. This will allow a 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 4.7 seconds and a computer-controlled top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Going for the base SE model will still get you perks such as xenon headlights (with LED daytime running lights), 17-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, and the Audi Drive Select system. The A5 Coupe has a standard electric trunk lid release mechanism, while the Sportback comes with a power-operated tailgate.
