It’s good looking, it will based on the new generation of the A4 and it has a two-door coupe body style.
We’re talking about the 2017 Audi A5 Coupe which is believed to make its debut sometimes next year. But until the carmaker will decide to offer it for sale, the only thing we can do is check out renderings, like the ones posted below. These have been signed by RM Design and they are showing us how the model in question may look like. Notice the similar front fascia and rear end to the new Audi A4 generation, along with the longer front doors, the dropped rear doors and, of course, the sloping roof line.
These modifications will be placing the new Audi A5 Coupe generation in the same segment as the BMW 4-Series Coupe and the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. The vehicle will be riding on the MLB Evo platform and it is expected to lose about 100 kg from its total weight. It will slightly grow in size in order to make room for its smaller brother, the A3 Sedan, so expect a more practical cabin and more space in the trunk. The engine lineup will be shared with the new generation of the A4 and this means that we can expect petrol burners ranging between 150 HP and 252 HP, along with diesel units producing between 150 HP and 272 HP. The new A5 Coupe should be unveiled next year, probably during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
