The upcoming Audi A5, in its new generation, is returning to our attention with the help of a couple of renderings.
Ever since the new generation of the Audi A5 has been officially unveiled a few weeks back, various vehicles based on it have been the subject of several reports and renderings and the upcoming A5 is making no exception. The two-door midsized vehicle, which will be rivaling with the BMW 4-Series Coupe and the recently introduced Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, doesn’t exist in a new version and the two images posted below are nothing more than simple renderings which have been put together by Theophilus Chin.
The vehicle will be similar in size and design to the new A4 except for the missing rear doors, the slightly sloping roofline and some tweaks made to the front and rear ends. The cabin is expected to be slightly different too and the platform which will be used in its development will be the MLB Evo. The vehicle will drop approximately 100 kg from its total weight, compared to its predecessor, and the entire engine lineup from the brand new Audi A4 will be added under its hood. This will also include the 2.0 liter TFSI four-cylinder unit, which is capable of putting down a total of 190 HP (140 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. The new Audi A5 Coupe is believed to be officially unveiled sometimes next year. More details on it are limited at this time.
