Fresh for the new model year, the Astra-derived Buick Cascada convertible has come up with a pricey Sport Touring special edition packing a unique shade of blue, exclusive to the limited series model.
Buick’s ST is a tad different than a regular hot hatch – which is implied by the ST moniker. It does have a 1.6-liter turbo with 200 horsepower – but that’s the same as in a Renault Clio RS, which has about half the weight. Of course, Buick does use on a regular basis the ST moniker to ascertain its top class versions – we have the Enclave Sport Touring, LaCrosse Sport Touring and recently the Regal and Verano ST. This new shade of blue has been named True Blue Metallic, and it’s actually the only option when selecting the Sport Touring version. The Cascada ST also packs standard 20-inch alloy wheels with 5-spoke design.
Considering the $37,885 base price for the Cascada ST, we can imagine the rest of the 2017 Cascada models will go down below this threshold when they get revealed. Aside from the new alloy set, new for the Cascada ST are the Black Magic interior trim components, sport pedals and a flat-bottom sport steering wheel. The model has already been displayed in front of the participants in the fifth annual Mille Mitten rally which included a 1,000-mile drive through the forests and lakefronts of northern Michigan. Dealership introduction is expected this fall, when the 17 seconds convertible top will be put to good use at speeds of up to 31 miles per hour.
