Don’t let yourself fooled by the name – we’re not talking about a revisiting of the beautiful EXP 10 Speed 6 concept from the 2015 Geneva Motor Show – this is an entirely different showstopper.
Or is it? For this edition of the Swiss show, Bentley thought about stealing the spotlight by concealing this surprise – the “EXP 12 Speed 6e.” It’s Crewe’s idea of a beautiful convertible – they took the first concept and chopped the roof. This is just another prototype, so speculation can ensue about Bentley ever producing a nimble, fast and more affordable coupe / droptop than the Continental series. This nimble showcar is still surrounded in mystery because technical details haven’t been revealed yet.
We did sift through the press images and inside the premium cabin sits a digital round display inside the 200-mph (322-kph) speedometer with a range of 257 miles – 413 km. As it is obvious, the exterior and interior are inspired by the previous coupe version, with retro lines and a high tech specification sheet thanks to the LED headlights and the OLED touchscreen inside the cabin. The cut-away steering wheel is also something else – alongside the copper elements on the gear selector and other elements. The unknown battery pack can be recharged via a regular charging point or wirelessly using the concept’s support for inductive charging.
