2017 GMC Sierra HD All Terrain X limited series introduced image

The 2017 model year GMC Sierra HD has been revealed in a new limited edition form, available with both the all-new Duramax diesel and the 6.0-liter V8 gasoline engine – but more importantly with a series of visual and hardware improvements.

GMC has already outed the Canyon and Sierra 1500 All Terrain X models, so it was only fitting the Sierra 2500HD crew cab 4WD would receive the same credentials. We’re talking here not only about an assortment of visual upgrades, but also modifications to enhance the off-road capabilities. The visual cues include a series of black accents and a custom grille surround in the same color as the body – which can be had in Black Onyx or Summer White. It also rides on 18-inch black wheels clad in capable LT275/65R18 Goodyear Duratrac MT-rated tires and also has a standard Z71 off-road suspension kit and the Eaton automatic locking rear differential.

The top end goodies also include things such as four-inch black sport side steps, Front and Rear Park Assist, an underbody shield, and a remote-locking tailgate – as well as LED rear guidance lamps and LED amber clearance lamps. The interior includes leather upholstery and heated front seats, as well as a standard 8-inch GMC IntelliLink infotainment system, wireless charging capabilities, adjustable pedals, and a remote start function. Engine choices include the 6.0-liter V8 gasoline engine with 360 hp or the new Duramax 6.6-liter V8 with 445 horsepower (332 kilowatts) and 910 pound-feet (1,234 Newton-meters) of torque.
