2017 Mustang Shelby GT350 adds new colors and the Track pack becomes standard image

The owners of the S550 Mustang Shelby GT350 that have a 2016 model year should be pretty disappointed now – the 2017 model year comes with interesting updates they may have wanted for themselves as well.

Ford Performance has officially revealed the 2017 Mustang Shelby GT350, which has been reported from February to up the ante for the new model year. First of all, the model comes packing three new shades – Lightning Blue, Grabber Blue and Ruby Red Metallic. The Blue Oval has also decided to somewhat bridge the gap between the “normal” GT350 and the GT350R for 2017, with the Track package now offered as a standard amenity. This brings Magneride dampers, an aluminum strut tower brace, as well as coolers for the transmission and rear differential. Design wise, the Shelby is now even easier to spot as the raised rear decklid spoiler is also a new standard amenity. Instead, the automaker axed the Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange shades.

When the 2016 model year was out, customers that wanted the model had to choose either the Track or Technology packs, which were mutually exclusive – now the first is standard and the second has been turned into the Convenience package, which adds interesting tidbits such as power-adjustable, heated and cooled leather seats. There’s also the flagship new Electronics package which adds the Sync 3 infotainment system with SiriusXM and voice-controlled navigation.
