The BMW Group is among the top performers at this year’s edition of the SEMA show in Las Vegas, putting on display in front of the worldwide audience a raft of models – also from Mini.
Along with the BMW stars, Mini has joined the party in Las Vegas with the new Ice Blue special edition based on the Cooper S hardtop, a model exclusive to the United States acting as a limited-run version that can be had from $29,450, or if you want the simpler Cooper version you can have it for $24,950. For the money you’re getting the exclusive Ice Blue, mixed with bright orange accents in the case of the hot S model. It also rides on 17-inch black wheels and comes bundled with a contrasting black roof with a panoramic sunroof.
Without telling us how many Ice Blue edition examples is going to sell in a “limited number” on a first-come, first-served basis, Mini is also directing our attention towards its other novelty – the introduction of the new John Cooper Works Tuning Kit (pictured above) that can be had with the Clubman and Countryman in the Cooper S and Cooper S All4 versions. It will bring a power increase for the turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine from 189 to 208 horsepower and delivers 221 pound feet of torque from 1,350 rpm. There are also carbon fiber exhaust tips as well as a Bluetooth actuated exhaust valve system allowing owners to pick Sport or Sport+ mods for the engine’s soundtrack. It’s going to be available early next year in the US from $1,950 MSRP.
