The large Edge can now be had with a more pronounced sporty appearance without actually turning to the Edge Sport trim level, thanks to the apparition of the new SEL Sport Appearance package.
Ford’s crossover gets new 10-spoke 19-inch wheels – as opposed to the Edge SEL’s standard 18 inch or Edge Sport’s standard 20 inch units. The Sport Appearance pack will also treat to Magnetic Metallic the grille surround, mirrors, rear spoiler, and skid plates and also features smoking headlights and side-window trim. The interior has been treated to a new gray-and-umber cloth upholstery – their option was influenced by hot climate users who don’t want leather seats in the heat of summer.
The Sport Appearance package also grants numerous new standard equipment to Edge SEL buyers, otherwise optional: Sync 3 infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, black roof rails, and a power liftgate. The powertrains remain the same as on any 2018 Ford Edge SEL – an entry 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-four with 245 horsepower (183 kilowatts) and 275 pound-feet (372 Newton-meters) of torque, as well as an optional 3.5-liter V6 with 280 hp (208 kw) and 250 lb-ft (334 Nm) – front and all-wheel drive are an option while the six-speed automatic transmission is not. The SEL Sport Appearance package is priced at $1,295 and will become available this fall.
