Dropping the top for the same family of updates as seen in the coupe version, the Mustang Convertible is now even more alluring in its 2018 model year guise.
The 2018 Ford Mustang has arrived mere days ago, but Ford decided to go all out for its fans and also introduce the refreshed Convertible. Naturally, the model has all the upgrades of its closed-top sibling, but lets the passengers and driver enjoy the wind and sun even better. The 2018 Mustang Convertible is thus more or less identical to its coupe brother – the modifications include a flatter deck lid at the back and the trunk opening also has some modifications due to the roof mechanism. Ford did the same as on the coupe – add Kona Blue, Orange Fury, and Royal Crimson paints, as well as 12 wheel designs.
On the technical side, all the updates are also available here – the 5.0-liter V8 gets more power and better fuel economy, as well as an optional active exhaust – while the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder packs even more torque. Safety is also top notch here: Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection, distance alert, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. There’s also the optional MagneRide suspension for added comfort or sportiness when needed. No additional details – such as exact engine outputs – have been released, though. The Mustang Convertible will be available alongside the coupe starting this autumn.
