The fourth generation Megane is almost ready to complete its family – as the French automaker has kicked off the teasing game for the high-performance RS version, which is “coming soon 2017.”
We’re now expecting the hardcore version of the compact family to come out of hiding in front of the worldwide audience this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but hopefully we’ll get an online reveal sometime earlier. The Megane III RS has been out of production for a few months now – since September 2016 – but the carmaker is apparently not in a hurry to deliver a new hot hatch to please its fans. But the company decided to ease the wait just a little bit – all the while marking a milestone for the Renault Sport Facebook page – one million likes. So, without further ado, here’s the unrevealing teaser image for the Ford Focus ST and Golf GTI competitor.
We’re not getting any details because the car is hiding under a cover – we only see the outline of the LED daylight running lamps, and that one is no secret since every member of the family has the same signature. We do get to peek at the lower lights which seem inspired by the same chequered flag motif seen on the Clio RS. We do know another important detail – this time around there’s no more three-door coupe version, and the Megane RS will pack the five-door hatchback body instead.
