It’s only been out for a few weeks – being unveiled for the first time in front of the worldwide audience of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit – but it’s already offered in an abundance of limited version models.
If you live in the United States you could specify the all-new Ram 1500 as the king of the hill Laramie Longhorn, or if you’re a native of Texas you might want to check out the Ram Lone Star. But if you live in chilly Canada then you’re going to have to choose whether to forego the regular 1500 for the new Sport model. It’s a Canadian-exclusive new trim, packed with new design elements, both on the outside and on the inside, starting with the monochromatic exterior appearance (available in nine different hues) and continuing with the use of a black billet bar grille, a black Ram logo, and black internal bezels in the bi-LED headlights.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Sport also arrives with a distinctive set of black 20-inch aluminum wheels – fans can even swap those for a 22-inch “Black Noise” set, a premiere on the 4×4 models. Aluminum accents with black badging and the mandatory “Sport” logo are also part of the deal. The interior mirrors the exterior strategy – all-black appearance with satin light chrome accents, real metal trim, and a diamond plate-look center stack that’s complimentary of the Rebel model. The Sport can be specified as a Quad or Crew Cab model and also comes with a standard 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system. The powertrain options have remained unchanged.
