24 Hours of Le Mans after 280 laps: Audi R18 leads the race image

Audi was in position to win the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans for the 11th time, with its cars in the top four spots Sunday morning after 280 laps.

Its main rival, Toyota, fell out of contention after its two cars retired.

The Nissan DeltaWing racing car retired from the Le Mans 24 Hours race after a collision with another car. A Toyota prototype bumped the dart-shaped Nissan off the track at the tight, difficult Porsche Curves. The team bowed out after six hours and 1,005 kilometers traveled. [Video]
