The new generation of the Honda Civic Type R has been recently rendered in a 3-door body style but chances are this version will remain in the virtual world.
The 2016 Honda Civic Type R is only offered as a 5-door hatchback, for the moment at least, but if you have wondered how this may look like in a 3-door body style, your answer has arrived and it can be seen in the image posted above. The photo is nothing more than a simple rendering, signed by X-Tomi Design, but it might provide us with a glimpse into a less practical variant of the impressive hot hatch, is the company will decide on putting it into production.
The brand new Honda Civic Type R is getting an aerodynamic body kit, highlighted by the ventilated front fenders, front splitter, larger air intakes for the new front bumper, larger side skirts, prominent rear wing and the underbody panels channeling air to the rear diffuser. The model is riding on 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/35 tires, which have been specifically developed for it. The interior is carried over but we can find the sports seats with red contrast stitching, machined aluminum gear knob, leather wrapped steering wheel, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, GPS navigation and much more. Power is coming from a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, with 310 HP (228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, connected to a 6-speed manual. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the hot hatch needs 5.7s and top speed is 270 km/h (167 mph).
