850HP: Dacia Duster prepared for Pikes Peak assault image

After successfully competing in the Andros Trophy ice-racing championship with F1 starAlain Prost behind the wheel, the guys at Renault Sport Technologies want the Dacia Duster to perform in a whole different league.

Now, Renault is hoping the car will crack the Pikes Peak world record hill climb event this year, set for June 26, and by the looks of that rear wing, it’s very serious about hitting some extreme speeds.

With the car set to debut in testing on June 5 ahead of the June 26 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Dayraut has released a handful of images showing his new machine being built and wind tunnel tested.
Official specifications haven’t been released, but the car features a bespoke chassis, a lightweight body and a race-prepped engine that develops approximately 850 hp (634 kW / 862 PS).
