There’s no better pocket rocket address than Abarth these days, and you can even have touches of elegance when selecting one if you opt for the 695 Rivale or 695 Rivale 175 Anniversary “ultra-limited edition.”
Fiat is constantly looking to entice customers to its offerings – considering there are few models to choose from in the first place. In addition, the cutesy 500 city car, the backbone of the brand today is also quite old. But after the not so recent facelift they are bringing it back to our attention via the high-performance Abarth subsidiary. The new 695 Rivale is actually bringing the usual Abarth oomph together with the timeless elegance of the yacht-inspired Riva version premiered last year. The new version can be purchased as a hatchback or cabriolet and even the two-tone Riva Sera Blue and Shark Grey paint which is exclusive to this new special edition. There’s even an elegant aquamarine double body stripe, as well as satin chrome door handles, “695 Rivale” badges on the tailgate and bumper, as well as a satin chrome element at the rear.
Inside the cockpit, the high-performance city car has blue leather upholstery, carbon fiber kick plates and even more carbon fiber on the dashboard. Buyers can also go premium with an alternate mahogany accented dash. The 695 Rivale is motivated by the usual turbocharged 1.4-liter gasoline engine packing 180 hp and 184 pound-feet (250 Newton-meters) of torque, good for a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in 6.7 seconds as it travels to 40 mph (225 kph).
