Abarth has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the most powerful version of the Punto, named the Punto Supersport.
According to the Fiat aftermarket specialists at Abarth, the Punto Supersport is coming with a modified exhaust system, centrally mounted, a high performance braking system, a sports steering column, Koni shock absorbers made especially for Abarth, a low ride height and a fresh set of 17-inch light alloy wheels. The Abarth Punto Supersport is coming in standard with front sports leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals, special carpets, the Blue&Me system with steering wheel commands, automatic climate control and many more interesting features.
Under the hood, the Abarth Punto Supersport is getting the 1.4 liter MultiAir Turbo engine, with 1,368cc and four valves per cylinder (16V), which, thanks to a Garrett 1446 turbo, is now developing a total output of 180 horsepower at 5,750 rpm. The hot hatch can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 216 km/h. The Italians are saying that the Abarth Punto Supersport will only be made in 199 units and the starting price of the model will be set at 21,900 euros, VAT included, for the local auto market.
