The German aftermarket specialist AC Schnitzer has recently taken the wraps off its ACL2 iteration of the BMW M235i coming officially to the Geneva Motor Show next week.
As always AC Schnitzer comes to the show party with a tailored program, this time around their project is allegedly focusing on the sporty BMW M235i coupe. What we have here are a teaser video, official photos, and preliminary technical specifications for a complete package. Called the ACL2, the BMW sports a wide body kit featuring new bumpers front and back. The front one has bigger air intakes while the pack is completed by the side sills, wider wheel arches, and big fixed rear wing. There’s also a classic looking green color and a set of two-tone five twin-spoke alloy wheels to complete the visual transformation. We can also see the massive wheels are covering an updated braking system, while the suspension and exhaust systems have also been fully transformed. The full scoop on the ACL2 has been reserved for next week when the model will have its worldwide public premiere during the Geneva Motor Show.
What we do know is the powertrain hasn’t been left untouched. The German tuning shop has delivered a power of 570 horsepower (419 kW) with a weight ratio of 2.54 kg/hp, which is why we’re thinking some lightweighting has been done here and there. What we don’t know is if AC Schnitzer kept the regular model’s three liter engine or opted for the bigger 4.4 V8.
