Acura is planning to develop a Roadster version of the NSX which is expected to make its way onto the market two years after the regular variant will be introduced.
The announcement hasn’t been made by the car manufacturer just yet but according to the Acura NSX designer, Jun Goto, who has recently spoken to the guys at the company is planning a cabriolet version of the sports car.
“We are looking at the convertible, but we have a long way to go with it”, said Jun Goto.
Acura hasn’t decided even if the new NSX Roadster will be offered with a hard top or a soft top but regardless of the final details, one thing is for sure, the model in question will be born two years after the coupe will make its way onto the market, in 2015.
The new Acura NSX is expected to come, in its final production version, with a mid-mounted V6 direct injected engine, which will be mated to a 7-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive. This will be backed up by two electric motors, which will send power to the front wheels. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and chances are that these configurations will be changed until the NSX will make its public debut, in a couple of years.
