The 2016 Acura MDX is the newest addition to the company’s lineup and this has been recently unveiled ahead of its launch which will be taking place later on this month.
Acura has released the first images and details with the 2016 MDX. The model in question is basically looking identical as its predecessor but the updated one is coming with a lot of changes made to the cabin, which include the Easy Entry driver’s seat, which is moving 35mm rearward when the driver’s door is opening, the Siri voice recognition, the multi-view rear camera with Dynamic Guidelines, a frameless rearview mirror, push button controls for the shift-by-wire gear selector replacing the console-mounted shifter and several other goodies.
The crossover has been also equipped with safety features such as the Collision Mitigation Braking System, the Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, the Forward Collision Warning, the Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Information, Road Departure Mitigation, Rear Cross Traffic Monitor and so on, with many of them being offered as standard. Improved all-wheel drive SH-AWD system is something that Acura has announced on the 2016 MDX, being lighter and offering improve torque vectoring capabilities.
The 2016 Acura MDX is packing a 3.5 liter V6 engine under its hood, which, according to the car manufacturer, is connected to a brand new 9-speed automatic transmission, with Sequential SportShift technology. The gearbox is weight 30 kg less than before. The crossover will go on sale tomorrow, the 5th of February, and it will be priced from 42,865 USD, without the 920 USD destination charge.
