AEV delivers apocalypse-ready Ram Prospect XL image

Off-road truck specialist American Expedition Vehicles has decided to mesmerize us with the latest project, the turn key Ram-based Prospect XL – which looks ready to tackle any wilderness.

The aftermarket specialist says the Prospect XL has “unique upgrades to transform this truck into something remarkable”, being based off a regular four-wheel-drive Ram 2500/3500 truck. The tuner then adds a raft of upgrades, starting with a set of HighMark fender flares that can engulf the 40-inch Toyo Open County M/T tires – while also fitting a suspension lift of just three inches (75 millimeters). The latter has a DualSport suspension setup as well as specially-tuned Bilstein 5100 dampers – and there’s also a hydraulic assistance system to help out the existing steering box.

The design includes the AEV Heat Reduction Hood, a snorkel intake, heavy-duty, stamped-steel front bumper and ductile-iron tow loops, rated to OE specifications, which also double as skid plates. There are also heavy-duty differential covers, a number of external lighting configurations, and a choice of winches up to WARN’s flagship model rated at 16,500 pounds (7485 kilograms). Pricing kicks off at $17,354 for the kit alone, with a 3-year, 60,000 mile warranty.
