The impressive Alfa Romeo 4C has been chosen to be the safety car for this year’s FIA WTCC (World Touring Car Championship).
The Alfa Romeo 4C is the new safety car for the 2014 WTCC. The announcement has been made by the company and it seems that one of the main reasons for choosing this vehicle for the competition is related to the Most Beautiful Cars of 2013 title received in Paris.
“The compact supercar was the winner of the poll organized, in partnership with the International Automobile Festival (IAF), on the international website network of Eurosport, a company that produces and promotes the FIA WTCC through its Eurosport Events division”, said the company in its official press release.
The Alfa Romeo 4C has been introduced back in 2013 and it’s assembled in Modena, Italy. It’s being offered in two body styles, both of them with two doors, a coupe and a roadster, with a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. Power is coming from a 1.75 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is rated at 240 HP (180 kW), at 6,000 rpm, and 350 Nm (260 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 4.5 seconds and top speed stands at 258 km/h (160 mph).
