Alfa Romeo has released a teaser image in which the auto maker is announcing the unveiling of the 4C sports car at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The new 4C, which will hit the production line right after its German event debut, is based on the 4C Concept presented by the manufacturer at the Geneva Motor Show.
Alfa Romeo’s new car will mark the return of the Italian auto maker in the sports car segment and according to the data offered by the manufacturer, the new 4C will be powered by a 1.75 liter engine which will develop 235 horsepower, and the car will be limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.
Featuring the same engine that powers the Giulietta model with an extra 35 horsepower, the 4C will borrow materials and technology from the 8C Competitione and thanks to aluminum and carbon fiber body panels, the car will have a total curb weight of 850 kg.
The Chrysler – Fiat CEO, Sergio Marchionne, has announced that the Alfa Romeo 4C will enter production right after its debut at Frankfurt and will hit the showrooms in the first half of next year.
