Alfa Romeo has recently announced a total of 1, 000 bookings received for its new lightweight two-seater sports coupe, the 4C.
After it was officially presented to the public a couple of months ago, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in its final production form, the Alfa Romeo 4C is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the carmaker announcing a total of 1,000 bookings received for the model. This is a huge number considering the fact that the carmaker is only planning to produce 2,500 units annually, out of which 1,000 will be sold in Europe, 1,000 in the United States, 100 in Asia-Pacific and the rest in other markets.
As a quick reminder, the final production version of the Alfa Romeo 4C will be powered by a 1.75 liter four-cylinder mid-mounted turbocharged engine, used on the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, producing a total output of 237 BHP. The unit will be mated to a twin-clutch TCT transmission, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, sending power to the rear wheels and allowing the 4C to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The first deliveries of the Alfa Romeo 4C will begin in September.
