The brand new Alfa Romeo 4C has managed to lap the famous German track, the Nurburgring, in just 8 minutes and 4 seconds.
Just a few days after making its international media launch, the brand new Alfa Romeo 4C has managed to lap the Ring in 8 minutes and 8 seconds. The 20.8 km of the Nordschleife were finished in the same time as the 2007 Audi R8 V8 or the outgoing version of the BMW M3, which is actually 1 second slower than the Italian sports car. The Alfa Romeo 4C has become the second fastest four-cylinder production car to lap the Ring, after the Caterham R500 Superlight, which recorded a time of 7 minutes and 55 seconds, back in 2000.
The impressive Alfa Romeo 4C weighs just 895 kg and it’s powered by a 1.75 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The unit is producing a total output of 177 kW and it has a peak torque of 350 Nm. Power is being sent to the rear-wheel drive though a six-speed dual clutch transmission. Thanks to this setup, the Italian sports car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The video with the 4C lapping the Ring hasn’t been released yet, so if you were hoping to see the model in action, you will be disappointed.
