Our spy photographers have managed to capture the production version of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider while it was being tested out.
The development of a convertible version of the Alfa Romeo 4C, the 4C Spider, is no longer a surprise anymore as the company has confirmed it and we have even seen it as a concept car back in March, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The model in question will have pretty much the same design as the coupe but it will stand out thanks to its canvas soft top and carbon fiber rollover bars. The lightweight material has also been used on the windscreen frame and on the spoiler.
This means that the drop-top has only added 60 kg to its total weight compared to the coupe. The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will be powered by the same engine used on the already available model, the 1.75 liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. The unit is producing a total output of 240 HP and it has a peak torque of 350 Nm, being connected to a 6-speed dual clutch TCT transmission. The Alfa Romeo 4C will enter production next year but chances are we will see it in October, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
