The first ever spy images with the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C Spider have recently hit the web, showing the model as it was being tested on public roads.
The Italian based automaker Alfa Romeo has some big plans for its newly unveiled sports car, the 4C, as the model will give birth to a new body style, a cabrio. The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider pictured below have been spotted on the roads but because of the camouflaged body, we can’t tell if its new roof will be a hard top of a soft top, but according to our colleagues at autoblog.it, chances are that we will see a hard top.
As far as the engine goes, the brand new Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will most likely use the same unit as the one found on the regular 4C Coupe. This means that power will be provided by a 1.75 liter four-cylinder unit, which will produce a total output of 177 kW and it will have a peak torque of 350 Nm. The unit will be mated to the same 6-speed dual clutch transmission, which will send power to the rear-wheel drive. Additional details on the model will be announced over the following months, probably during a major automotive event, where it will make its public debut.
