Alfa Romeo has announced the opening of the order books for the new 4C Spider in the United Kingdom.
Buyers looking into a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive drop top who aren’t willing of spending a fortune on a real supercar can now go ahead and place a deposit for the impressive Alfa Romeo 4C Spider as the carmaker has announced the opening of the order books for it in the United Kingdom. According to the company, the cheapest version of the Alfa Romeo 4C starts from 59,500 GBP and this is actually a significant increase compared to the solid roof version which is available from 45,000 GBP.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is basically 10,000 GBP dearer than the Porsche Boxster S and the 5,000 GBP more expensive than yet another rival, the Lotus Exige S Roadster. The convertible sports car is coming with the monocoque chassis found on the hardtop too, made from carbon fiber, and it is only gaining 10 kg in its total weight thanks to the rollover protection. The vehicle is getting the canvas soft roof at the time but rumor has it that the a hard top, made from carbon fiber, will be available as an option in the near future. The 4C Spider is also getting the revised wheels, xenon headlights, carbon fiber windscreen frame, upgraded audio system, cruise control, parking sensors and more. Both the 4C and the 4C Spider are also sharing the same engine, the 1.75 liter four-cylinder turbocharged unit.
