Alfa Romeo is getting ready to introduce a 4C Spider during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere, next week, which will serve as a preview for the final production version of the model.
The Italian automotive media is currently stating that Alfa Romeo is getting ready to officially pull the wraps off a convertible version of the recently unveiled 4C. According to our source, the model in question will be named the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider and it will be introduced, at first, as a concept car, but it will eventually hit the production line and it will become available for order.
The new Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will get a “chopped” roof, some strengthening and some other tweaks, which will make it slightly different than its solid roof brother. As far as the engine goes, chances are we will see the same 1.75 liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline burner, which is developing a total output of 240 HP (177 kW) and it has a peak torque of 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). More details on the recently announced Alfa Romeo 4C Spider will be announced during the Swiss automotive event.
