Chrysler Australia recently declared that from May 1st it will be the distributor for Alfa Romeo, capsule Fiat and Fiat Professional brands in Australia.
In 2011 sales for the Fiat, price Alfa Romeo and Fiat Professional brands (2,635 units) were recorded by Vendor Field Analytical and Characterization Technologies System (VFACTS), but beginning this May the current Fiat and Alfa Romeo dealer group, which numbers 17 passenger dealerships with 22 commercial vehicle outlets across the country, will report into the Melbourne-based Chrysler Australia group. The models offered on the Australian market are: the Alfa Romeo 159, the 159 Sportwagon and the Giulietta, the Fiat 500, the Fiat 500 Abarth, and Fiat Professional brands Ducato and Scudo.
In the past 12 months Chrysler Australia, which manages the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands in the Australian market, reported sales of 11,931 units, up 27.5% from 2010, while 2012 January and February sales were up 78% over the same period in 2011.
