The Italian based automaker Alfa Romeo is planning to develop a new model, a crossover, which will hit the market in 2015.
Rumors on Alfa Romeo developing an SUV or a crossover are ending up in our news once again and this time they are actually giving us a date of when the model should see daylight for the first time. According to the guys at Automotive News, the Alfa Romeo crossover is expected to make its way onto the market in 2015. The model in question will actually be based on the Dodge Dart and rumors are saying that it will be heavily influenced by the 2014 Jeep Liberty.
The brand new Alfa Romeo crossover will be part of the company’s plan to try and triple its sales by 2016 and in order to do this, the automaker will have to invest 1 billion euros in its facilities by 2014 and to launch nine new models. The future Alfa Romeo lineup will include a roadster, co-developed with Mazda, a full size sedan, based on the Maserati Ghibli (future entry-level sedan), the production version of the 4C, a sedan and a wagon variant of the Giulia and much more. Additional details on the Alfa Romeo crossover are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its debut.
