The Alfa Romeo SUV has been recently spied with camouflage on its body, getting ready for a market release sometimes in 2013.
After the Alfa Romeo SUV has got the green lights for hitting the production line just a couple of days ago, the crossover is making its way into our news one more time, thanks to the guys at autoexpress.co.uk, who have managed to catch it on camera. According to our source, the Alfa Romeo SUV will be based on the flexible CUSW platform, the same one which will underpin other models within the brand.
Power to the Alfa Romeo SUV will be provided by engines “borrowed” from the Fiat Group and it will include four-cylinder turbocharged units, but the most popular will be the 2.0 liter MultiJet, which will come with approximately 140 BHP. MultiAir petrol engines will also be available and future customers of the Alfa Romeo SUV will get a choice between two-wheel drive and front-wheel drive.
Besides the Fiat Group providing the engines, the Alfa Romeo SUV will also have a lot of things in common with the Jeep Liberty, but these common things won’t mean the exterior design, because Jeep will follow the same path as before. The Alfa Romeo SUV will be produced at the company’s plant in Toledo North, Ohio, and it will hit the market sometimes next year.
