The German automaker is awaited patiently by fans to deliver the already rumored M2 GTS, but as it turns out there’s an alternative that will make even the most inquisitive fans happy.
The Internet has been swirling with rumors of a hardcore M2 GTS ever since the model was first introduced but of course BMW isn’t going to bring forth such a limited version with a price to match until interest for the regular one hasn’t somewhat veined. Of course, since the interest is strong in the standard M2, aftermarket specialists are treating it to their love and deliver their own versions of the GTS. Alpha-N Performance for example has the “M2 GTS” packing a new aerodynamic body kit and even a new hood inspired by the one fitted to the M4 GTS.
That part alone costs at least €3,399 and can be specified in carbon fiber or Kevlar. The new front spoiler costs an additional €1,299 and the back of the car can be had in GTS flavor via the M4 GTS-like rear wing costing €2,099, while the diffuser is another €999. The M4 is also used as inspiration for the new roof with a visible carbon fiber finish and a central recess – this one is also costly at €1,449. The bigger wheel arches gain 20-inch alloys borrowed from the M4 GTS, with the finished product on show next month during the 2016 Essen Motor Show. The turbocharged, inline-six 3.0-liter engine is still there and has jumped 365 horsepower to 450 hp – it’s prowess is kept in balance with the ceramic brakes taken from the M4 Coupe.
