Alpine A120 officially confirmed for the Geneva Motor Show image

The Porsche 918 Cayman and Alfa Romeo 4C rival is finally tipped for an official unveiling during the upcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show on March 7.

After months of teasing, Renault’s revived Alpine sports car brand is again teasing us to the upcoming official debut of its first production series model in the new era. The latest teaser showcases a blurry blue sports car and we’re hoping it will be the last one belonging to the pre-introduction marketing campaign. And by the way, in case you aren’t on site at the Swiss event, the company will also live-stream its premiere. With so many teasers and spy shots we already know pretty much everything about the alleged A120. The lines are inspired by the A110 but the cues are decidedly modern – and so are the technologies.

Underneath the sports coupe body there’s an aluminum monocoque chassis for low weight – while aerodynamics are assisted via the flat floor and rear diffuser. In the cockpit the driver and passenger will be greeted by high-tech lightweight seats, weighing just 28.8 pounds (13.1 kilograms). We know Alpine has promised a 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in just 4.5 seconds, but we still don’t know the engine and transmission setup.
