The Alpine A110 is the first reborn vehicle in what the French manufacturer hopes will be a long string of model successes. Aside from the lightweight sports car, the brand is also allegedly going to rival the Porsche Macan with their own sporty SUV.
But before that happens the Alpine revival needs to be substantiated further – with something to attract even more fans, such as a track-only version of the A110. The company is already teasing us to the opportunity to race inside the A110, with a first sketch of the race car. For now, all we can see is the front end coming out of the race garage, but as far as we can see we’re dealing with a proper track hero. More aggressive diffuser, a tow hook, and some added aero details are all there, in the pursuit of better track times.
Naturally, the customization will include a roll cage, a bodykit with reworked aerodynamics, and a completely stripped-out interior to drop more weight. The regular turbocharged engine is also expected to jump – a good increase over the standard 252 horsepower (188 kilowatts) should be expected. Racing company Signatech is in charge of development and sales, and also takes care of FIA-homologation standards. The A110 racers will also play in a brand series starting in 2018, with around 20 entries on circuits across Europe.
