The new generation of the Skoda Octavia has been rated with 5 stars after being crash tested by the ANCAP.
Good news for those of you living in Australia who were looking into the new generation of the Skoda Octavia because this is one safe ride to own, according to ANCAP and the latest crash tests. The 2014 Skoda Octavia has claimed a maximum five-star safety rating, which is a significant improvement compared to the previous four-star result of its predecessor, scoring 35.87 points out of a total of 37 and 15.87 points out of 16 in the frontal offset crash test.
The new generation of the Skoda Octavia has also managed to set a perfect score in the side barrier impact and the side pole impact tests but the lack of seatbelt reminders and the seatbelt pretensioners for the rear passengers is what made it score one point under ANCAP’s scoring system. If it had these features, the new Skoda Octavia generation would have scored 36.87 points out of 37, making it safer than the B-Class, than the Volvo V40 or the new 3-Series generation. The new Skoda Octavia has also scored 5 stars when it was tested by the Euro NCAP this spring.
