Apollo IE is the spiritual successor of Gumpert image

Apollo Automobil has gone through drastic changes as of late – but they’re finally showing us a fist glimpse of the IE model, the one that should propel them into the future.

Roland Gumpert back in 2004 was establishing Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH in Denkendorf, Germany – but he then decided to found and lead as CEO Apollo. He’s no longer involved with the company either, because in 2016 he sold it to Hong Kong-based investment fund Ideal Team Venture – owners to the rights of the De Tomaso brand since 2015. Officially entitled as Apollo Automobil and with a new logo, the niche marque aims to secure its place in the sports car segment – and they are showcasing their intentions with the new IE, which as far as we can see is an aggressive model.

The Apollo IE comes with a large curved wing dipped in carbon fiber, centrally mounted triple exhaust tips and sleek taillights. The design is also reminiscent of the Arrow concept seen at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show – this is because Apollo joined forces with Manifattura Automobili Tornio (MAT) since last year to produce a new version of the Arrow codenamed “Titan”, packing a V12 engine. As a side note, the company has also revealed that Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) is no longer involved in their project.
