An image which seems to show the full design of the new Audi R8 generation, ahead of its Geneva debut, has hit the web recently.
The 2016 Audi R8 is a well kept secret at this time but good things have apparently come to a full stop for the car manufacturer because the first leaked image with the upcoming supercar has ended up on the web. The photo posted above seems to be official but it hasn’t been released by Audi yet, because the company will officially pull the wraps off the body of the car next Tuesday, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere. This image has been released by Motor Passion and even if it may look kind of different than the official teaser released by Audi, keep in mind that it might turn out to be a hoax.
The new generation of the Audi R8 will be an entirely new supercar. The model in question will be sharing the same platform with its Italian cousin, the Lamborghini Huracan, and it will also use a 5.2 liter V10 updated engine under its hood, which is expected to be the same as the one in the Italian model, meaning 602 HP (449 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. Besides the 5.2 liter V10, the new Audi R8 is also rumored to make use of a smaller V6 engine and the model might actually get a diesel e-tron version. More details on it are limited at this time and will be announced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
