Inautonews.com photographers have managed to spy, for the first time, what is believed to be the new top of the line version of the Porsche Macan, the GTS.
The Porsche Macan GTS has been already hinted by the company’s CEO, Matthias Mueller, as the model in question will be coming as high-performance variant. Our photographers have managed to capture it on camera, for the first time, somewhere in Northern Italy. Porsche is expected to become an SUV manufacturer, which is also developing sports cars, because of the Cayenne and the recently unveiled Macan as the two models will soon make up to 64 percent of the company’s sales. 24 percent will be credited to the sports cars and the rest are carried over by the Panamera.
The small SUV category will get some of Porsche’s traditional sporting capabilities and the model to get some sporty feel into it will be the Macan GTS. We’re not sure what engine will be making its way under the hood of the Macan GTS, but the Boxster GTS has a 3.4 liter inline six-cylinder engine, which is rated at 330 HP (243 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque. This can be mated to either a six-speed manual or an optional PDK. More details on the model in question are limited for the moment and will probably be announced during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, when it could be making its public debut.
