Ariel Motor Company will soon introduce a new special edition of the Atom, which will be called the 3.5R.
The announcement has been recently made by the carmaker and it seems that the new Atom 3.5R Limited Edition will come with an array of upgrades which should make it even more desirable amongst the company’s fans. The model in question will be a derivative of the Ariel Atom 3.5 which was introduced back in 2012, with a chassis coming from the Mugen versions, along with the V8 engine, but this will be an even hotter variant of the model.
The Honda Civic Type R will also power the new model, with its 2.0 liter four-cylinder supercharged engine, which is producing a total output of 350 HP (261 kW), from the previous 310 HP (231 kW). This has happened thanks to a new charge cooler. The Ariel Atom 3.5R Limited Edition will be getting a 6-speed Sadev paddle shift transmission, which will be tweaked, along with Ohlins TTS dampers and Kumho high performance tires. The model will be priced from approximately 80,000 GBP and it should be hitting the market this summer. More details on it remain unknown for the moment.
