One of the most fun-to-drive vehicles out there, the Ariel Atom, apparently gave its owner an extra shot of adrenalin and made him crash into a parked Range Rover in London, the result being an obvious three-wheeler Atom.
Sadly we don’t know the whole story behind the Ariel Atom crash but according to wreckedexotics.com the vehicle crashed into a Range Rover which was parked on the side of a London street, proving again that wherever there will be exotic cars, there will also be exotic car crashes.
As a reminder, the Ariel Atom is a high performance sports car made by the Somerset, England based Ariel Motor Company. The Atom can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and it can hit a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) even if its engine is delivering just 245 horsepower at 8.200 rpm (300 in the supercharged version) and 210 Nm of torque (150 lb-ft) at 6.100 rpm.
The Atom’s engine is mated to a Honda six-speed with reverse or GM six-speed with reverse transmission and the vehicle is powered by the 2.0 liter four-cylinder i-VTEC or supercharged Honda engine, or by the GM Ecotec four-cylinder 2.2 liter or 2.4 liter unit.
The Ariel Atom costs 30.000 GBP (49.980 USD) for the entry-level version while the supercharged variant will get 45.000 GBP out of your pockets.
