Aston Martin is the coolest brand in the U.K., better than Apple and Google image

Iconic car marque Aston Martin has once again won the crown as the coolest brand in the UK.

For the fifth time in six years, Aston Martin has been officially declared the King of Cool, having been recognized as 2011’s coolest brand by CoolBrands.

Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the CoolBrands Expert Council, says “Cool is subjective and personal. But being identified as a Cool Brand by the British public and a panel of influential opinion formers implies it is a brand that most Brits wish to own.”

This year’s CoolBrands council compromised of music artist Jessie J, DJ Rob da Bank and actress Sadie Frost. A shortlist of 1,500 brands are established from an initial 10,000 brands. The panel are then asked to produce a top 500 of the most highly rated companies.

Sports giant Nike and phone firm BlackBerry also shot up the list this year while Lamborghini and Ducati were dropped off the list, the Daily Star reported.

The CoolBrands initiative was established in 2001 to find the brands that have the most positive resonance with the public based on a criteria which includes “style, innovation, authenticity, originality and desirability.
