The Aston Martin SUV is still in development and the luxurious crossover will be based on the Lagonda concept, revealed back in 2009 during the Geneva Motor Show.
With the Bentley EXP 9 F SUV getting ready for its future customers and coming closer to them by the day, Aston Martin couldn’t stand aside and watch its competition enter a new segment, so the Aston Martin SUV is still in development and it might hit the market sooner than we think. Even if there is no official word on the production state of the SUV from the British based automaker, the guys at the insideline.com are saying that the Aston Martin SUV will be based on the Lagonda concept.
According to our source, the Aston Martin SUV will have a lot of things in common too with the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, because the crossover will use the same platform and running gear, while power will be provided by the company’s 6.0 liter V12 engine. A range of smaller units, possibly Mercedes-Benz sourced, will also be offered for the model. If the Aston Martin Cygnet was a huge fail for the company because of its ridiculously high price, we’re curious what the Aston Martin SUV will cost.
