Another spontaneous combustion incident has completely ruined one expensive ride, an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, in Denmark.
If you have bought an Aston Martin in the hope that this won’t spontaneously combust like most Ferraris and Lamborghinis, you are going to be disappointed because the British sports car in question isn’t exactly safe. The image posted above is showing an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish which has been completely ruined by flames, starting in the engine compartment and eventually spreading to the whole vehicle. The fire service arrived too late and this attractive sports car will now end up in the crusher. The incident took place in Denmark, on a motorway.
The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish has been produced in just 1,492 units, between 2001 and 2005, in Newport Pagnell, England. The model in question stands at 4,665 mm long, 1,923 mm wide and 1,318 mm tall, weighing in at 1,835 kg. It’s taking its power from a 5.9 liter V12 engine, which is producing a total output of 450 HP (335 kW) and 540 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to a 6-speed Electrohydraulic manual transmission. The sports car became famous when it appeared in the 2002 James Bond film, Die Another Day.
