Aston Martin has announced a series of updates for the Vanquish and for the Rapide S, whose deliveries will begin in the third quarter of this year.
The 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish and 2015 Aston Martin Rapide S have been updated and they have received features such as the newly developed Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic transmission. This is promising to reduce the fuel consumption and also to boost the performance, also making it three percent lighter and more compact. The gearbox has been signed by ZF and it will be allowing the Vanquish to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 4.1 seconds, which is basically 0.5 seconds faster than before.
The Rapide S is also half a second faster and it needs just 4.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h). The gearbox’s ratios have been altered thanks to the updated final drive and now both vehicles can achieve a top speed of more than 200 mph (322 km/h). Both vehicles are burning an average of 9.1 liters of fuel every 100 km (31 mpg UK / 25.8 mpg US) and the Vanquish is emitting 298 g/km of CO2 while the Rapide S 300 g/km. Changes also include the 10-spoke forged alloy wheels, the interior cabin leather trim, the updated engine management and several other features.
